SWIM SCHOOL MEMBERSHIP - SWIM & SURVIVE

 

Our Swim School Membership program caters for students from 6-months of age and of all ability levels with classes available seven days a week. Our AUSTSWIM accredited Swim Teachers will ensure a fun and exciting learning environment while providing parents/guardians with feedback and updates regarding your child's progress.

The Swim & Survive program is a nationally recognised program developed by Royal Life Saving Society Australia (RLSSA).

 

Swim & Survive is a comprehensive swimming and water safety initiative that seeks to develop the swimming and water safety skills of children to prevent drowning and to increase participation in safe aquatic activities. At WynActive our goal is to provide this new and widely acclaimed program to develop your child’s skills for all aquatic environments. 

 

Why Swim and Survive?

• One in five of all drowning deaths are people aged under 18 years 
• 56 children drowned last year 
• 91% of children aged 0-4 fell or wandered into the water 
• 43% of drownings in rivers were children aged 10-14
• Males are four times more likely to drown than females 
• Drowning rates dramatically increase as teenagers become young adults

 

The Swim & Survive program structure and level progression can be found in the Swim & Survive log book as part of your WynActive Welcome Pack. 

Skills and knowledge learned in the Swim and Survive program provide children with solid foundation skills in swimming, survival and basic rescue skills. 

 

The levels we will be conducting are Wonder, Courage and Active. 

 

Each program is structured into skill strands that ensure a balanced, comprehensive approach to a child's aquatic education. 

 

Wonder is a water familiarisation program for children aged 6 to 36 months.

 

Courage is a program that builds water confidence for preschool children between the ages of 3 and 5 years.

 

Active is a swimming and water safety program for children between the ages of 5 and 14 years.

The WynActive Swim School program runs concurrently with the Victorian public school terms and breaks during school holidays and public holidays. A WynActive Swim School Membership also entitles your child and one accompanying adult to free entry to AquaPulse outside of your scheduled class time at no extra cost. Also included is access for your child and one accompanying adult to Werribee Outdoor Pool which opens during the warmer months.

Enrolment fee $29.90 • $20.60 per week (23 annual debits)

Swim School Flexi Membership (no minimum term)

Important Swim School Membership Changes

We understand that many families take the opportunity to go on holidays to spend quality time with loved ones after the school year has ended and as such may not have the opportunity to visitAquaPulse. Based on your feedback, we have decided that we will no longer direct debit Swim School Memberships during the summer school holiday break (December 13th 2019 - January 9th 2020).

This means the annual costs of All Swim School Membership types will be equally spread across 23 direct debits, rather than 26. You will not be debited on December 13th, 27th 2019 and January 9th 2020.

The great news is for those families who are still around during the holidays, is that swim school students will continue to have access to the pools with complementary entry for one responsible person.

The new rate came into effect on 1 July 2019. In line with clause 6.9 of the terms and conditions of membership, your direct debit charge will be adjusted from the first direct debit date in July - Thursday 11th July 2019.

Swim School Membership Cards

·         The Blue card is the Student Card

·         The Green card is the Responsible Parent/Guardian Card

Upon arrival for your swimming lesson or aquatic visit to AquaPulse or Werribee Outdoor Pool, students will need to scan their barcoded card first. Once this is complete and the green light flashes, the responsible parent/guardian can then scan their card and gain entry.

·         The Green Responsible Parent/Guardian Card will not provide access to the facilities unless the Blue Student Card has been scanned prior.

·         Only one responsible person is permitted entry with one student.

·         Additional individuals are required to pay entry.

·         Entry is via the AquaPulse and Werribee Outdoor Pool main entrances.
