AquaFit

AquaFit is a water-based exercise and rehabilitation program available to the public and aimed at aquatic therapy through reduced weight-bearing exercise. The equipment includes underwater cross-trainers, bikes and aquatic walkers and is located in the Warm Water pool.
The AquaFit equipment is available for casual rehabilitation use. Please note, at times physiotherapy and exercise physiology groups may be using the equipment, making it unavailable to the public.

Conditions of Use

  • Children should not use the machine unless they are under adult supervision.
  • Keep others, especially children, at a safe distance while exercising.
  • Remove all jewellery, including rings, chains and pins before commencing exercise.
  • Please ask if you are not sure how to use the equipment.
  • Do not use the equipment outside of the water.

Aqua Bike Instructions
  1. While seated on the AQUA BIKE, the level of the water should be between your waist and chest
  2.  Please remain seated on the AQUA BIKE while exercising.
  3. Please hold on to the handle bars while using the AQUA BIKE
  4. We recommend that you warm up 5 to 10 minutes before each workout and cool down 5 to 10 minutes afterward.
  5. Breathing should remain at a normal rate in conjunction with the level of exercise being performed.
  6. Rest adequately between workouts. We recommend that beginners do exercise twice a week and increase gradually to 4 or 5 times per week.
Aqua Trainer Instructions
  1. While using the AQUA TRAINER, the level of the water should be between your waist and chest.
  2.  Please hold on to the handles while using the AQUA TRAINER.

  2. Please hold on to the handles while using the AQUA WALKER.
